Shelly Dimmer 2

Dimmer 2 is a small dimmer relay designed to fit in most of the electrical boxes behind light switches. When connected to a wireless network, Dimmer 2 makes traditional lighting smart and easy to control. After installation, lights can still be used conventionally from the switch.

Dimmer 2 can be set to follow sunrise and sunset, automatically adjusting the lighting. The dimmer gradually increases the light in the morning and decreases it as the evening gets darker. The lighting can also be easily adjusted for optimal reading or TV viewing, for example.

The safety features include an internal temperature sensor. If the circuit board temperature rises too high, the device will immediately shut off. In addition, a separate power setting can be configured. If Dimmer 2 detects consumption higher than the configured setting, the device will immediately cut off the power.

Shelly's smart home products support Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant virtual assistants. In addition to these, several other smart home systems/platforms are supported (check compatibility on a product-by-product basis). Shelly products connect to a wireless Wi-Fi network and do not require a separate home automation controller to function.

Note! You will need an electrician's help with fixed electrical network installations. If you want to control multiple lights with one Dimmer 2 dimmer relay, the lights to be controlled must be identical in terms of power and operating technology. When used without a neutral wire, Dimmer 2 requires a minimum power consumption of 10 W to function. If the power consumption of the connected light is lower than this, a separate Shelly Bypass device must be used.
